| PROTEAS OF THE VALLEY: 16 AUGUST 2018 |
Elzabé Broekmann is the founder of Good Hope Psychological Service in Paarl and Stellenbosch.
As a qualified teacher she worked in Eerste River and she instinctively knew that she would always work in communities. She started studying again and obtained her Masters Degree in Psychology at 40 years of age.
Elzabé recognised that there was a critical need for professional psychological services to vulnerable people who couldn’t afford counseling. And so, she established Good Hope.
Elzabe and Good Hope have trained more than 50 intern psychologists, and currently have two offices with 14 professional psychologists seeing more than 1600 clients each year, for free.
Elzabé Broekmann is now 70 years old. She willingly offered the majority of her life to help others. Her heart for the poor and vulnerable have earned her widespread recognition.
She is an optimistic, pioneering and valiant woman. She is a Protea of the Valley.
